The recent fatal accident in Rivers State, which claimed the lives of four individuals, is a stark reminder of the fragility of life. On May 12, 2025, a vehicle driven by Benson Michael, 36, lost control and collided with six pedestrians along G.U. Ake Road, Eliozu Port Harcourt. The incident left two others injured, who were rushed to the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) for medical attention.

The Mercy of God

In times of uncertainty and tragedy, we are reminded of the mercy of God, which preserves our going out and coming in. Psalm 121:8 says, "The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time on and forevermore." This verse serves as a comforting reminder that our lives are in God's hands, and His mercy is what sustains us.

Life is unpredictable, and incidents like the one in Rivers State can happen to anyone, anywhere. It highlights the importance of living each day with purpose and gratitude. As the Rivers State Police Command Spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, noted, "The case will be transferred to the State Traffic Department for further investigation." The police are working to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident, and the driver has been arrested.
