Etche Ethnic Nationality Disowns Former Rivers State Head of Service Over 'False Claims'
The Etche Ethnic Nationality has publicly disassociated itself from Dr. George Nwaeke, the former Head of Service, Rivers State, over his recent allegations of corruption and sponsorship of violence against Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
At a press conference organized by the Etche Ethnic Nationality Simplified Movement in Port Harcourt, Chief Hon. Ogbonda Nwuke described Dr. Nwaeke as a "liar, betrayer, and notorious untrustworthy" individual. Nwuke, a former Member of the House of Representatives and Director of Press, Rivers State, revealed that the Etche nation had previously refused to consider Dr. Nwaeke for a chieftaincy title or honor due to his unstable character.
According to Nwuke, Dr. Nwaeke's actions were motivated by personal financial gain, rather than a desire to serve the public interest. "He approached the Chief of Staff, Government House, Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie for financial assistance before his trip to Abuja," Nwuke alleged.
The Etche Ethnic Nationality Simplified Movement has called on security agencies to investigate Dr. Nwaeke's conduct and hold him accountable for peddling falsehood against Governor Fubara and the people of Rivers State.
"We disassociate ourselves from the shameful, ignorable, distasteful, and childish behavior of Dr. Nwaeke, propelled by his insatiable greed for financial gains," Nwuke stated. "Etche people are not betrayers, but we believe in the common good of the state."
The group reiterated its support for Governor Fubara and condemned the imposition of a State of Emergency, calling on President Ahmed Tinubu to reconsider his decision in the best interest of Rivers State.
