VC Zeb-Obipi Commends RSU Staff on Workers' Day


In a heartfelt Workers' Day message, Professor Isaac Zeb-Obipi, Vice-Chancellor of Rivers State University, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt, extended his warmest greetings and appreciation to the university's teaching and non-teaching staff. According to him, "Today, we recognize and celebrate the invaluable contributions you make to our university community."


The Vice-Chancellor acknowledged the challenges facing the institution but expressed confidence that together, they can overcome them and emerge stronger. "Your hard work, resilience, and passion for our University's mission inspire me and drive our progress," he stated.


Prof. Zeb-Obipi highlighted the university's achievements under his administration, attributing them to the staff's potential contributions to the institution's mandate. He encouraged the staff to reflect on their collective achievements, recommit to their goals, and look forward to a brighter future.


The VC outlined areas for improvement, including result management, students' graduation and convocation processes, transcript and certificate delivery, staff and student accommodation and relations, and labour relations. He assured that management would continue to strive to create a conducive work environment for research, teaching, learning, and community services.


"Let us continue to work together, support one another, and strive for excellence in all we do," Prof. Zeb-Obipi urged. "May this celebration inspire us to new heights of achievement and excellence," he concluded.


The Workers' Day message serves as a testament to the Vice-Chancellor's commitment to collaborative leadership and his vision for a thriving university community. As the institution navigates its re-engineering phase, the dedication and expertise of its staff remain crucial to its success.
