Ayakpo Marlon, also known as Ayas, is a Founding Partner at Gracestone Solicitors & Advocates. He is a seasoned commercial astute legal practitioner with demonstrated expertise in corporate and commercial law, regulatory compliance, technology law, and natural resources law, particularly in the Oil, Gas, Power, and Mining sectors.

Ayakpo holds an LL.B. degree from Babcock University. Called to the Nigerian Bar in 2017, he has garnered over eight years of progressive legal experience, providing legal advisory and representation across diverse sectors, including banking and finance, fintech, extractive industries, FMCG, real estate, and intellectual property.

He began his legal career at DLA Piper Africa (Olajide Oyewole LLP), where he developed a strong foundation in top-tier commercial legal practice before expanding into regulatory advisory and strategic counsel for multinational and local institutions.

He has acted as both external solicitor and in-house legal counsel, advising prominent institutions such as Guinness Nigeria Plc, Diageo Nigeria Limited, Technip Energies France, Samsung Heavy Industries Nigeria Limited (SHI-MCI FZE), Eko Pearl Construction Company, Oando Plc, various deposit money banks, fintech companies, and governmental agencies.

In the energy and infrastructure space, Ayakpo is known for his grounded legal insight, delivering strategic support on licensing, compliance, EPC contracts, joint ventures, and cross-border commercial frameworks. He navigates clients through complex regulatory regimes involving the CBN, NITDA, NOTAP, NIPC, NDPC, NMDPRA, and NUPRC (formerly DPR), NSITF, and FIRS.

As a founding partner at Gracestone Solicitors & Advocates, Ayakpo leads the firm’s efforts in corporate advisory, legal project management, litigation, and regulatory risk management, offering practical legal solutions aligned with commercial realities. He is a trusted governance and compliance adviser, known for his strategic approach, depth of industry knowledge, and ability to manage sensitive legal matters with high-level confidentiality.
