Gaza Under Siege: 16 Palestinians Killed in Israeli Attack Near Aid Site
At least 16 Palestinians were killed and over 100 injured in an Israeli military attack on aid seekers near the Netzarim Junction in central Gaza, according to medical sources cited by Al Jazeera Arabic. The Gaza Ministry of Health reports that at least 144 bodies and 560 wounded have arrived at hospitals over the past 24 hours, with four bodies retrieved from under rubble.
The conflict has led to a significant increase in violence, with the UN reporting a surge in grave violations against children in conflict zones, with Gaza topping the list. The health ministry in Gaza says over 55,706 Palestinians have been killed and another 130,101 wounded since the start of fighting.
The situation is dire, with Gazans making life-risking journeys to seek food. The Palestinian Authority reported a disruption in fixed internet services and landline communications in central and southern Gaza due to damage to the territory's main fibre optic cable, which they blame on Israel.
