Rivers State Contractors Get Clean Bill of Health as Sole Administrator Dispels Debt Rumors

In a move that's set to boost investor confidence and accelerate development projects in Rivers State, Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd)   has made a significant declaration. According to Ibas, the state government, under Governor Siminalayi Fubara, is up-to-date with its financial obligations to contractors.

"We are hoping and exploring the contractors to make sure they keep to the timelines," Ibas stated, emphasizing the state's commitment to ensuring projects are completed on schedule. He further noted, "I think the State has been able to meet up with its own obligation in terms of making available resources for them. So we are counting on them to keep to the completion time."

This announcement is a welcome development, especially considering the state's recent history of political instability. The crisis, which led to President Bola Tinubu declaring a state of emergency in Rivers State, had raised concerns about the state's ability to fulfill its financial commitments ¹. However, Ibas' statement has helped to alleviate these concerns and reassure contractors and investors.

As the state moves forward, it's clear that the administration is focused on driving growth and development. With contractors now assured of timely payments, the stage is set for accelerated project completion and improved infrastructure in Rivers State.
