TINUBU ADMINISTRATION FIRES BACK AT JONATHAN, SOYINKA OVER RIVERS STATE OF EMERGENCY

In a scathing rebuke, the presidency has slammed former President Goodluck Jonathan and literary icon Wole Soyinka for their remarks on the State of Emergency declared in Rivers State. The Tinubu administration's sharp response came via Temitope Ajayi, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, who emphasized that President Tinubu has a nation to govern and will not tolerate any form of crisis that could destabilize the country.

Ajayi dismissed the comments made by Jonathan and Soyinka as mere personal opinions, stressing that President Tinubu exercised his constitutional powers in declaring the State of Emergency. The president's spokesperson also highlighted the Supreme Court's ruling that there is no functioning government in Rivers State, as recognized by the Nigerian constitution.

According to Ajayi, President Tinubu is committed to preserving the corporate existence of Nigeria and will not hesitate to take decisive action to protect the country. The presidency's strong response is a clear indication that the Tinubu administration will not be swayed by criticisms from opposition leaders and prominent figures.

As the situation in Rivers State continues to unfold, one thing is clear: the Tinubu administration is determined to assert its authority and maintain order in the country.
