*Nigeria Intervenes as Super Eagles Stranded in Libya*
The Federal Government has stepped in to resolve the ordeal of the Super Eagles, Nigeria's national football team, who were left stranded in Libya for over 13 hours without assistance from the host Libyan Football Federation.
After arriving at Al Abraq Airport on October 13, the team was unable to leave due to authorization issues from Libyan authorities. Captain William Troost-Ekong expressed frustration on Instagram, announcing the team's decision not to honor the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Mediterranean Knights.
The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) is arranging the team's return to Nigeria, casting doubt on the fixture's likelihood. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, is in contact with the Super Eagles and the Nigerian Mission in Libya.
