Tinubu Takes Nighttime Tours to Understand Nigerians' Plight

President Bola Tinubu is taking a hands-on approach to addressing Nigeria's economic struggles, according to Senator Orji Kalu. In an appearance on Channels Television's Politics Today, Kalu revealed that Tinubu sometimes drives around Abuja at night to see firsthand how Nigerians are coping with the economic hardship ¹.

Kalu praised Tinubu's connection to the people, saying, "He's a street person; he knows the street very well." Nigeria's inflation rate, reported at 32.7% in September 2024, has led to a surge in basic goods costs, affecting millions ¹.

The senator noted that Nigeria's economic challenges are not unique, citing the ongoing global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. "The impact of COVID-19 is still affecting economies globally," he said. Kalu attributed other countries' resilience to their long-standing economic stability ¹.
